Sweet!

The beginning (0:15 - 0:30 specifically) is so damn catchy! I love the solid beat with the bouncy grimy synths. As it goes on it definitely becomes more dubstep-ish, which is great, although I feel that the dubstep sound is a bit overused in the way that every dubstep song has very similar sounding grimy-bassy-synths that alternate in very similar ways. This song isn't simply plain dubstep though, it has some great elements that mix it up and make it overall more fun to listen to.

For being made jokingly, this turned out great! Glad you ended up submitting it.

Nice, could use some work though

The basis of this song is good, with a solid electro-house sound, but the percussion gets too busy a bit too often, and the melodies seem a bit sloppy and confused at times, kind of incoherent, like some of them sound good and fit the song but some of them don't work as well. Maybe it's just me.

This is definitely a good electro-house song though, and I really like the synth sounds that you are using. The song has a kind of bounce to it all the way through that is great, and it never really gets too repetitive. Overall, this is a pretty good song, but could use some work here and there.

Thank you for your review.

Very interesting

I don't know why, but this song made me think of The Hobbit... definitely not a bad thing. This is a nice catchy little loop, and although it seems a bit too busy to be in a video game, it's fun to listen to. Nice!

Sweeet

The intro is cool, but the tag-team thing going on between the dubstep bass and trance-piano-and-pads is just so great, I love it. And that bass, man.. awesome dubstep sound. The drums could use some reverb, and the song definitely needs to be longer with more of that bass!

Despite the lack of 2 more minutes of trance-dubstep tag-team, this is an awesome song. The mixing to me sounds perfect, except for the drums needing some reverb. Excellent work on this, dude.

SessileNomad responds:

i played around with reverbing the drums, it works better with high end clap type sounds but with lower snares its just abnoxious. trust me it didnt work

glad you liked the track though

Yes!

I'm really liking this, man. Ambient is definitely one of my favorite genres, and this is a great example of not-boring ambient. This song has a great laid-back chill to it, and you incorporated a lot of interesting sounds while maintaining that chill, without causing the sounds to be vague at all.

Everything sounds really great. The beat has smacking-power without getting in the way at all, and gives the whole song a nice backbone. All the different sounds you used keep it interesting, and not once does the song lose any bit of laid-back chill.

Great song!

Fuck yes, Protoss

Tassadar is a goddamn badass. I always play better as Terran though.

This song is awesome. Sweet riffs and leads, tight beats, cool Starcraft sounds, great mixing, excellent theme. Its got it all!

Awesome song man. Doesn't sound rushed at all.

AAAhhhhh sweet ! I guess we are Brotoss now ;) Thanks !

Great video game song

The effort is definitely there; this is a well made video game song, and would do well in an action game of some sort. However, as a song, it seems a bit incongruous. It just doesn't flow well for just listening, at least just for me. It might only be my opinion, as I'm not a huge fan of video game music. Seeing as how I can't specifically explain what exactly doesn't flow well, I'm guessing it's just the fact that I'm not into video game music.

This is a very well made song though. Every element sounds great, from the synths to the drums to the orchestral sounds. There is an intensity to the whole song that definitely has a video game feel. The only thing that I specifically don't really like about song is the way that the tempo slows and speeds up again. I think that if you added a pause in between the slowing down and speeding up, it would flow better.

Overall, a very well put together song. Nice work!

Sweet

This is tight. It makes me think of Atmosphere and Nightmares On Wax wrapped into one. Basically, this is some great music here. If you wanted to extend the song, some lyrics would do very nicely, but for the length that it is now, it does just fine without them.

Great song here man, really great. I like it.

Smooth!

Is this sampled, or did you create it? It sounds great, and reminds me a lot of Atmosphere. Kinda repetitive, though it is a demo; hopefully the full song will be mixed up a bit more?

Regardless of a bit of repetitiveness, this is really great. Smooth, sophisticated, complex, laid back. The song will be awesome. Will it have vocals?

DJDureagon responds:

Its a sampled beat with some ambiance added by me. The song is really for a vocalist to flow over so i wanted to make it not have too many switch ups. It does have that much variety because .. i just dont know how to make it have that..... I have no idea what im doing..... sorry. I dont know how to make anything myself. I wish i did.

Well

This isn't a terrible vocal clip, although the need for and use of Auto-Tuning does show. Don't just submit this though; make a song around it! By itself, it's not really any good for listening to, and the Audio Portal is more for finished songs, not vocal clips like this one.
